On Sunday, November 18th, Geneva Initiative-PPC organized a conference at the Rocky Hotel in Ramallah to promote the role of youths in the decision making process.

Some 240 young men and women participated in the discussions and heard lectures by Palestinian Minister of the Prisoners’ Affair Ashraf al-Ajrami, and Nazemi Al-Jobeh, General Director of the RIWAQ organization.

Al-Ajrami shed light on the importance of involving the youth in the decision making process. He blamed the political parties for not giving youths a chance to play any role in the political, economic and social systems.

Al-Jobeh said that current circumstances demanded that youths participate in the Palestinian political debate.

The conference is part of the Empowering Democracy Project Sponsored by the Fredrich Naoman Foundation and the German Foreign Affairs Ministry.
