Advanced Political Course for Young Palestinian Leaders

Throughout the past month, the Palestinian Peace Coalition-Geneva Initiative brought together 15 promising young Palestinian leaders for a series of meetings in Ramallah. The young leaders met with Palestinian politicians, public figures and experts, learned about the history of the conflict and the current political situation, and talked about their own role as agents of change.

This unique political course provided participants with detailed knowledge of the conflict and a toolkit to promote the two-state solution. The course focused on issues like the future of the two-state solution; the role of youth in the democratic process; ways of interaction with politicians; the current wave of violence. Throughout the course, it was stressed that dialogue is the cornerstone for a successful democratic process. The young leaders also received intensive training, focusing on gaining advocacy skills, finding creative ways to deal with skepticism and using different mediation and negotiations techniques.

The activists who took part in this activity leave the PPC-GI better informed, more motivated and equipped to advance the cause of peace within their communities and political circles. We are proud to have them as our ambassadors of peace!
