December 2009 Joint Poll: 64% of Palestinians and 73% of Israelis support the two-state solution

The poll was jointly conducted by the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Ramallah


The poll also finds that if presidential elections were held between Abbas and Ismail Haniyeh, the former receives 54% and the latter 38%.
In Israel, 58% support the removal of illegal settlement posts in the West Bank and a sizeable majority (66%) support talks with a national unity government composed jointly of Hamas and Fatah if such a government is reestablished.
