Eitan Cabel

Member of Knesset, General Manager of the Labor Party, former minister without a portfolio

Eitan Cabel has been a Member of Knesset on behalf of the Labor Party since 1996 and currently serves on the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. He is also Secretary General of Labor and the party's Parliamentary Group Chairman. He served as Minister without Portfolio, responsible for the Israel Broadcasting Authority, from May 2006 until his resignation in May 2007. He has also been an active lobbyist, promoting peace, the interests of reserve and enlisted soldiers, security guards, the environment, and Israel's cities. Before being elected to the Knesset, Cabel served as President of the Hebrew University Students’ Union and was a former aide to Agriculture Minister Katz-Oz, Opposition Leader Shimon Peres, and Housing Minister Ben-Eliezer.
