Who are the Israeli officials serving negotiations?
Israeli peace experts, veterans of the "peace industry," and especially officials connected to the Geneva Accord and Yossi Beilin. These officials are very active, maintain intensive contacts with both parties, and are attempting to supplement the infrastructure of memory, knowledge and expertise that has been so absent on Ehud Olmert's side. By the way, the various drafts that have been leaked, especially to the Palestinian media, and presented as the "materializing agreement" were documents composed by these Israelis. There are neither authorized, nor official, nor valid, but they are reaching everyone on both sides, being referenced, and often times serving as a basis for discussion.
