The Geneva Initiative was a strong presence at the Rabin memorial rally at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv.

Geneva Initiative volunteers and representatives staffed several booths in the square, where they spoke to rally-goers about the Geneva Accords and handed out signs, balloons, posters, stickers, and t-shirts. They also screened videos from GI's recent "Partners Campaign," in which Palestinian leaders speak to the Israeli public with a call to seize the current opportunity to reach an agreement based on a two state solution. The Geneva Initiative's banner, floated above a crowd estimated at about 100,000 people.

GIs participation in the event was covered in various news outlets. Writing in Ha'aretz (in Hebrew) the day after the rally, Gideon Levy remarked, "last night, the non-parliamentary groups were more prominent than ever…the square was filled with flags and signs of the National Left and the Geneva Initiative."

The Jerusalem Post also commented on the Geneva Initiative's noticeable presence (in English). To read the article, click here.
