Geneva Initiative Israeli and Palestinian heads to discuss GI annexes at The Hague

On December 2, Geneva Initiative Israeli and Palestinian representatives discussed the GI Annexes at The Hague Center for Strategic Studies.


Specific sessions dealt with the Geneva Initiative and current challanges in the domestic and international arenas, as well as the role of an international security force under an Israeli-Palestinian agreement.

The Geneva Initiative was represented by Head of the Geneva Initiative (PPC) Palestinian office, Nidal Foqaha and Former PA Minister Dr. Samih El Abed from the Palestinian side and by Brigadier General (Ret.) Shlomo Brom and Brigadier General (Ret.) Ilan Paz from the Israeli side.

In addition to the seminar at The Hague Center for Strategic Studies which was attended by official position-holders from the Ministried of Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs, participants included former position-holders and academics, all of who had studied the Geneva Initiative annexes in advance and came prepared with questions.

The GI representatives also utilized the time in the Netherlands to meet with officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The seminar is part of a program which includes a number of briefings by GI experts on the Geneva Initiative anexes and the role of the international community in solving and later implementing a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
