On Wednesday, January 23rd, 2007, Geneva Initiative representatives MK Dr. Yossi Beilin and Gadi Baltiansky (Geneva Initiative Director-General) met with Ireland FM Dermot Ahern T.D. and Ireland's Ambassador to Israel, HE Ambassador Michael Forbes, in Jerusalem. Issues discussed during the meeting included the EU's outlook and taking on the latest developments in the region; the chances of beginning an Israeli-Palestinian negotiations process regarding an endgame solution to the conflict and the importance of bilateralism. Minister Dermot Ahern T.D. shared his personal experience on related issues from his involvement in solving the historical conflict in Ireland.
