On December 2-3, the Geneva Initiative held a two-day seminar for c.35 leading women from Ramallah.

The seminar focused on addressing the role of the media in empowering women and in increasing women's role in decision-making processes, especially with respect to the conflict.
Mr. Kadura Fares, principal of the Prisoners Club, briefed the participants about the role women play within the Palestinian prisoners movement. Participants also met with Dr. Siham Barghouti, Minister of Education, who stressed the need for women to have to play an active role in the social and political arena.
