Date: 21.09.2008

On September 17th-21st, the Palestinian Peace Coalition – Geneva Initiative held a youth camp in the city of Ramallah for some 300 youths from both genders. The main focus of the camp was to shed a light on the concepts of peace, tolerance, non-violence, respecting others, and dialogue.

All speakers agreed on the importance of the following:

  • Strengthening the Palestinian national identity and Palestinian institutions, which constitute the core of the future Palestinian State.
  • Building an active and efficient partnership between the Palestinian and Israeli peace camps
  • Maintaining the public momentum towards reaching a solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
  • Sustaining the path of democracy by holding democratic elections and protecting the rule of law and civil rights.

The camp was organized as part of the project entitled "Empowering Rationale Voices," funded by the European Commission.
