On Thursday, May 29th, top Israeli and Palestinian Geneva Initiative representatives met with former Portuguese president Jorge Sampaio, currently the United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations.

The meeting took place in the Ambassador hotel in Jerusalem and was attended by Portugese Embassy officials, President Sampaio, GI co-architect Yossi Beilin, Yonatan Touval, Gadi Baltiansky, Nidal Foqaha, and Dr. Samih Al-Abed.

During the meeting, Sampaio voiced his concern regarding the lack of substantial political progress, saying he felt the two-state solution was becoming more and more elusive
