Young Israeli and Palestinian leaders meet to discuss the peace process

On July 15 - 18, the Geneva Initiative held a joint Israeli-Palestinian seminar for young political leaders.

15-18.07.2010

Participants included 20 leading activists, position holders, and parliamentary and ministerial assistants from central Israeli and Palestinian political parties (10 from each side), including the assistant of Israeli Minister Ben-Eliezer (Labor) and the assistant to PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Discussions focused on prominent political concerns within the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority, as well as the core issues of the conflict. Participants learned about the political maps on each of the sides and spoke about ways to bridge the gaps and end the conflict. Nidal Foqaha, Director-General of the GI Palestine led a discussion on the prospects for the Palestinian Authority and IDF Brigadier General (Ret.) Ilan Paz led a session on security issues.
