On Monday-Wednesday, September 8th-10th, Geneva Initiative held a joint Israeli-Palestinian seminar in Istanbul aimed at introducing top representatives of the Shas Ultra-Orthodox coalition party with senior Palestinian figures and journalists.

Six journalists and politicians from Shas, led by former Minister of Religious Affairs Asher Ochana, attended the seminar alongside six Palestinian journalists and public figures, led by former State Minister Qadurah Fares. Geneva Initiative Director General Gadi Baltiansky spoke at the seminar and acted as moderator.

The participants from both sides discussed Shas's political positions, the Ultra-Orthodox media's coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Palestinian view of the conflict, and the Arab media's coverage of it. Additionally, lectures and discussions addressed the things that must be done so that a solution to the conflict could be reached.
