GI participates in public event in Annapolis

26-27/11/2007: GI representatives participate in public forum and rally in Annapolis, Maryland

On Monday evening, November 26th, the Annapolis Society of Friends, also known as the Quakers, hosted a public forum with negotiators from the Geneva Initiative, as part of acitivities leading up to and coinciding with the U.S. sponsored Mideat peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland.

The meeting was held at Saint Anne's Episcopal Church at Church Circle, in Annapolis and was attended by hundreds of people.

The forum featured Nidal Foqaha, executive director of the Palestinian Geneva Initiative headquarters, the PPC, and Mossi Raz, a member of the Israeli public council of GI and former member of the Knesset.

The two discussed the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and answered questions from the audience. The forum was followed by a candlelight walk for peace.

On the day of the Summit (November 27th), the two spoke at a Peace Rally which was held in immediately before the conference. 100 peaople participated in the rally.

On November 28th, the two representatives are participating in meetings on and off Capitol Hill.
