On October 19-21, a joint delegation of Israeli and Palestinian representatives of the Geneva Initiative held a meeting with the political advisor of PM Zapatero and with high-level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, the delegation participated in a public event organized by Casa de Sfarad in Madrid. The GI representatives also visited Sevilla, where they took part in an event organized by the ACPP. The aim of the meeting was to form a "Madrid Coalition" comprising of Israeli, Palestinian and European pro-peace NGOs in advance of Spain taking over the Presidency of the European Union in January 2010.
