On August 6, Israeli and Palestinian parliamentary assistants and political activists who participated in our June 2006 seminars reconvened in Bet Jalah.

Israeli and Palestinian political assistants representing different parties of the political spectrum met in Beit Jala near Jerusalem for a one day seminar. Participants were engaged in intensive discussion sessions and workshops on the core issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: security, refugees, Jerusalem, water, mutual recognition, boarders and territory.

Following the workshop the group took part in a tour of the security barrier guided by GI signatory Shaul Arieli. The group viewed the security barrier from different viewpoints in greater Jerusalem and was also introduced to the Geneva Initiative's solution to the issue of borders. The group of 20 had previously participated in a three day seminar, which took place in Jordan earlier this year.
