Brig. Gen. (ret.) Ilan Paz is a former head of the IDF Civil Administration and a former brigade commander in the West Bank. Earlier in his military service, from which he retired in 2006, Pas served as deputy commander of the Navy SEALs, commander of missile ship, and commander of an Air Force Special Unit, among other positions. Paz currently works as an analyst at the Economic Cooperation Foundation and is working on political, security and economic projects promoting dialogue with Palestinian counterparts.

Paz is a graduate of École Militairein Paris and holds a B.A. in Middle Eastern studies.
