Israeli and Palestinian activists are planning to hold rallies in the West Bank town of Ramallah and Jerusalem concurrently on September 24 under the slogan "we must move ahead towards peace - from Gaza to a permanent accord."

At the Ramallah rally, planned to be held at the government compound known as the Mukata'a, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is expected to deliver a speech.

His address will be broadcasted live to the Israeli public via satellite on giant screens to be set up opposite the prime minister's official residence in Jerusalem, where the Israeli rally is to be held.
The joint event is organized on the Israeli side by the peace organizations Geneva Initiative and Peace Now, and on the Palestinian side by the Palestinian Peace Coalition and senior figures in the PA.

Organizers are expecting tens of thousands to attend both rallies.
