Israeli-Palestinian Young Leadership Seminar in Jordan

Israeli-Palestinian Young Leadership Seminar in Jordan
Date: 01.12.06

The Jordan Seminar for Israeli and Palestinian young leadership is the second of its kind to be held by Geneva Initiative in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (the first such seminar was held during May 2006). Both the first and the second seminars involved Israeli and Palestinian youth who are politically involved and politically active in different channels.

The seminar enabled influential young activists and politically involved young leaders of both sides (seven from each side) to meet and communicate in an unmediated and neutral environment, and exposed each of the sides to the alternative solutions regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Simultaneously both the working sessions as well as the unmediated interaction encouraged participants to consider the other side's situation, perspective, background and differences of opinion.

The encounter was facilitated pro-bono by a private businessman who is an expert on the development of skills for alternative thinking, and who is the Managing Director a company which specializes in developing inventive thinking. The facilitator has many years of experience in facilitating creative thinking and project development workshops as well as problem solving, MarCom and advertising projects.

A number of joint initiatives have resulted from the three day seminar, all of which are currently in the pipeline and being worked upon by the participants from both sides.
