Madrid+15 Conference January 10th-12th, 2007

The Conference commemorated the fifteenth anniversary of the 1991 Madrid Peace Conference by bringing together influential figures from the parties of the conflict and other relevant actors to mark the need for an internationally-backed regional approach to peace and stability in the Middle East. The conference was attended by leading figures from the International Community including decision makers, policy shapers and former and current officials.
Israeli representatives to the conference included Former Israeli Ministers Shlomo Ben Ami, Roni Milo and Dan Meridor and current Israeli Members of Knesset Colette Avital (Labour); Ophir Pines-Paz (Labour); Israel Hasson (Yisrael Beiteinu). The Palestinian side was represented by Hanan Ashrawi, Nabil Sha'ath, Jibril Rajoub and Mustafa Barghouti among others.

The Geneva Initiative was represented at the
Madrid+15 Conference by Sam'an Khoury, GI Signatory and peace activist and Michal Radoshitzky, Director of Foreign Relations, Geneva Initiative.
The conference voiced a clear message regarding the need for international intervention in reaching and implementing a solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict and emphasized the importance of the RoadMap, the Clinton Parameters, the Arab League Initiative and the Geneva Initiative in reaching an endgame.
