May 2010,Palestinian Public Opinion Poll: 61% support indirect talks if Israel will agree to freeze all settlements in East-Jerusalem

The Palestinian Centre for Public Opinion conducted a poll between 15 - 28 April. The poll sampled 1153 Palestinians from West Bank, Gaza Strip and East-Jerusalem. The poll was published on May 5. These are some of its findings:

1) In your opinion, if Israel will agree to freeze all settlements in East-Jerusalem for the duration of 4 months in order to resume indirect talks with the Palestinians, would you or would you not support such talks?

Support 61%

Oppose 29%

Undecided 10%

2) Do you support or oppose Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations?

Support 58%

Oppose 34 %

Undecided 8%

3) Instigation of a 3rd Intifada:

72.2% of the interviewees oppose an instigation of a 3rd Intifada in the form of the 1st and 2nd one, whereas 22.8% support such an idea. 5% chose to not answer the question.

4) Do you support or oppose a permanent status peace agreement with Israel based on the Clinton Parameters; according to which Israel will return almost all West Bank territories to the PLO in addition to land swaps in specific areas?
