Palestinian and Israeli GI Representatives Address Assembly of Cooperation for Peace

From November 10 to 13, Palestinian and Israeli representatives of the Geneva Initiative participated in a seminar organized by the Assembly of Cooperation for Peace in Valencia, Spain, where they lectured on GI's educational outreach.
Palestinian and Israeli representatives of the Geneva Initiative Fatina Abbud and Yamit Eriksson attended the annual event organized by the Assembly of Cooperation for Peace (ACPP) in Spain, which brought together thirty branches of ACPP from throughout the country.

There, they led a discussion on educational work conducted by the Geneva Initiative among different sectors in the Israeli and Palestinian publics. In their remarks, Abboud and Eriksson specifically addressed the utilization of social media and the internet as tools to reach out to young constituencies. The conversation was simultaneously translated from English to Spanish.

There was a great deal of interaction with the between the speakers and the audience, which raised many questions about local politics, the peace process, and cooperation between our two organizations, the Palestinian Peace Coalition and H.L. Education for peace (together the Geneva Initiative).

The goal of the four-day event is to increase capacity building and awareness raising in Valencia on civil society participation for the Millennium Goals achievement.

While in Valencia, Abboud and Eriksson also lectured at the University of Valencia and the University of Albaida. Approximately 100 people attended each event.
