During the last day of PM Natanyahu's visit to Washington, he reportedly spoke to senior American political commentators and referred to the Geneva Initiative's border solution further to criticism regarding building in Jerusalem (Ha'aretz, 26.03.2010). So too did Israel's Intelligence and Atomic Energy Minister and Cabinet Member, Dan Meridor, quote the Geneva Initiative in a meeting with Swiss FM Micheline Calmy-Rey. What the two did not mention is that sovereignty over Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem under the Geneva Accord is part of a package deal with an Israeli withdrawal to 1967 borders with modifications based on a 1:1 land swap; and a divided Jerusalem which serves as the capital of both the Israeli and Palestinian states |
