On August 17th, PPC-GI held an open meeting in Jenin titled "One Homeland, One legitimacy." Hundreds of Palestinians attended the meeting.

Dr. Anwar Khalaf, representating President Mahmoud Abbas, addressed the audience saying "there is only one legitimacy. It is President's Abbas legitimacy."

Mohammed Amoudi, Head of the Factional Coordination Committee, expressed surprise over those who claim that they are the only legitimate power in the Palestinian political context, stressing the rule of law.

Majed Abu Khalid, Head of the National Organizations Committee, condemned the coup in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the PLO is the ultimate decision maker in the Palestinian Authority.

The open meeting in Jenin was held as part of a European Commission-supported program to enhance rational and moderate voices in Palestine.
