PPC Public Conference in Gaza

In mid-April, the Palestinian Peace Coalition-Geneva Initiative held a public conference in Gaza, which examined some of the latest developments in the Palestinian political system and their impact on Palestinian reconciliation and the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.

The conference focused mainly on the importance of Palestinian unity and political representation, and shed light on the obstacles that hinders the efforts to end the split. The speakers and participants, mostly representatives of official bodies and civil society organizations, discussed the negative impact of the internal conflict on the democratic life in Palestine, and on the peace process and the two-state solution.

Some 130 Palestinians attended the conference, during which they met with speakers such as Fatah official Mohamad Nahal, Talal Abu Zarifeh from the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and Dr. Imad Falouji, former Minister and the Chairman of the Adam Center for Dialogue of Civilizations.
