The seminar was tailored to ten leading members of Israeli and Palestinian societies who hold significant influence within their respective communities. It dealt with many conflict related issues including media in the peace process, recent developments on both sides, public opinion and the alternatives facing Israel and Palestine in the political arena. Representatives debated whether media shapes or is a reflection of society and discussed their own role in influencing public perceptions. Speakers at the seminar included Mr. Ali Riza Guney, Head of the Middle East Department of Turkish Foreign Ministry, who spoke about the role of Turkey in the peace process, a representative from Keshev (a joint Israeli-Palestinian media monitoring endeavor) and participants themselves who shared their experiences, difficulties, perspectives and ideas.
