Shas Seminar Participants Meet for Follow-Up Event

On Thursday, November 3, the Geneva Initiative hosted a follow-up event to a seminar held over the summer in Budapest. The event came at the request of senior Shas members who wished to continue the conversations started in the seminar.
Senior members of the Shas Party met with Palestinian officials in a follow-up meeting to a seminar that took place this summer in Budapest.
Participants listened to political analysis by Geneva Initiative Director General, Gadi Baltiansky, and discussed the implications of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal on the peace process, as well as ways to move past the political standstill we currently face.
The meeting resulted from the initiative of the Shas members to continue the conversation started in Budapest this past September, and the politicians expressed desire to continue developing a relationship with their Palestinian counterparts. They even expressed openness to visiting Ramallah and meeting high-level Palestinian officials.
