Israeli mayors travelled to Turino, Italy to meet with their Palestinian neighbors
 
In the time that the new government was being formed, Israeli and Palestinian mayors were meeting in Turino, Italy, at a Geneva Initiative seminar, to discuss the future of the diplomatic peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. 
 
The participants of the seminar included: Mayor of Ashdod, Yechiel Lasri, Mayor of Rosh Ha'Ayin, Moshe Sini, Mayor of Karmiel, Adi Eldar, and Mayor of Yokneam, Siman Alfasi. On the Palestinian side, participants included: Ghassan Al Shak'a, Mayor of Nablus, Hani Hayek, Mayor of Bet Sahour, Shahar Ashtiya, Mayor of Sulfit, and the Director-General of the Geneva Initiative in Ramallah, Nidal Foqaha. 
 
The Israeli Mayors reached understandings with the Palestinians and concluded to cooperate in the municipality level between city and promoting the subject on the national level. The mayors were invited to Italy by the Mayor of Turino, who is a longtime partner of the Geneva Initiative. 
 
Eldar "I was invited by the Geneva Initiative to a series of discussions with the heads of the Palestinian Authorities. The discussions focused in municipality matters, which are connected to the Palestinian Authority and the State of Israel. The environment was condusive and friendly and if it was up to the negotiators, there is no doubt that there would be peace."
