Swiss Special Envoy to the Middle East delivers Aboul Gheit the final version of "Geneva Initiative" for peace achievement

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry stated that Foreign Minister, Ahmed Aboul Gheit received on September 10th, 2009, Ambassador Jean-Daniel Ruch, Switzerland's Special Envoy to the Middle East. The meeting tackled the latest developments on the efforts level aims at the achievement of a just comprehensive settlement in the Middle East, particularly in relation to the Palestinian cause, outlined the Spokesman.
The Spokesman said that Mr. Ruch delivered Aboul Gheit the final version of "Geneva Initiative" for peace achievement, which was done through the past years by two teams of Israeli and Palestinian peace supporters headed by Yossi Beilin and Yasser Abed Rabbo under the auspices of Switzerland. The Swiss Official highlighted that Egypt is one of the first countries to receive the initiative, also other countries supporting peace efforts will receive copies of such initiative.
The Swiss Official expressed his aspiration that the initiative will be a boost for the different sides to reach a final settlement. The initiative and its annexes present suggestions and theses to solve all pending dossiers and causes, including borders, refugees and Jerusalem causes, outlined the Spokesman.
The Spokesman pointed out that Aboul Gheit expressed his appreciation to the Swiss effort which contributes in the facilitation of carrying out and completing such important document that can form a good and useful base of reference when signing a peace agreement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
