The Geneva Initiative meets with Portugal's Minister of Foreign Affairs

On November 25, GI Israeli director Gadi Baltiansky and Steering Committee member Colette Avital met with Portugal's Foreign Affairs Minister Augusto Santos Silva

 

Avital told the minister about the Geneva Accord, explaining that it represents the only available agreed upon model agreement. Baltiansky took the opportunity to discuss the role of the international community in helping the parties to reach a genuine, sustainable peace agreement. Minister Silva stressed his support for the two-state solution.

As part of his visit in the region, the minister met with several officials, including Israel's President Reuven Rivlin and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
