On Thursday, July 17th, Geneva Initiative-Israel welcomed Robert Serry, the United Nations' Special Envoy to the Middle East, for a meeting with steering committee representatives in GI's Tel Aviv headquarters.

In attendance were Mr. Serry, Jonathan Lincoln, who heads the Israel desk in Mr. Serry's mission, GI co-architect MK Yossi Beilin, MK Colette Avital (Labor), GI Director General Gadi Baltiansky, Dr. Menachem Klein, Col. (ret.) Shaul Arieli, Brig. Gen. (ret.) Israela Oron, ECF representatives Boaz Karni and Yonatan Touval, and GI Director of Foreign Relations Michal Radoshitzky.

The UN envoy briefed the participants on the quartet's current positions and on his views on the prospects for peace. He voiced his desire to hold similar meetings in the future.
